Business operating in Lynn Valley since: 1975

What do your patients like about you?
We believe in a gentle and warm personalized approach that blends the traditional principles of dentistry with the latest technological advancements.

We pride ourselves in providing a non-rushed, friendly dental office environment where our patients will have time to explain their concerns and expectations. We always offer different treatment options and solutions based on patient desires, budget, time and, of course, scientific evidence. Our patients range from toddlers just getting used to their first tooth, to seniors in their golden age.

What’s your favourite thing about your patients?
I have worked as a dentist in many different communities and I can tell with certainty that the patients in our Lynn Valley Clinic are among the most appreciative patients I have ever served. They are (almost!) always on time and they are very loyal to our clinic. We have been getting so many referrals in our community and are always very grateful for that as we are still growing.

Tell us a dental tip…
“You don’t have to brush all your teeth… Just the ones you want to keep!”

What about your previous accomplishments?
During the school years, I was a Class Valedictorian – top of the class in clinical and academic grades. Member of three International honour societies, American Dental Association, Canadian Dental Association, International Team of Implantology.

Hobbies?
Photography, biking and hiking with my family (wife, nine-year-old son, 15-year-old daughter and a four-year-old little Yorkie)

How about community involvement?
We have never turned our back to any patient in dental need, especially emergencies, no matter what the patient’s financial situation is. I have also been serving the dental needs of the underserved community of Fort St John, BC  for the last few years on a regular monthly basis. I was also a clinical Instructor for final-year Dental Students at UBC.

Tell us something we don’t know about you…
I hold two Dental degrees:
– Doctor of Stomatology (Branch of Medicine that specializes in the human mouth)
– Doctor of Dental Surgery

What’s your business taught you?
Four Valuable Lessons My Patients Have Taught Me:

Presence – how important it is to be present, and “in the room” when my patients are with me. I am so glad that early on, right from the start in my career, I made a point to be no where else but in that room (mind and body) with my patients. My team and my family have always known, during working hours, I take not phone calls, and I want no interruptions when I am with my patients. It has always been my practice to be present and engaged, and when I think about it now, the patients I have met and been blessed with that practice has benefited me far more than benefited them.

Relationships – they matter! My patients are so much more than just patients, and I feel blessed to have gotten to know them as people, and for them to get to know me. Learning about their hobbies, their families, the work they do, and what matters to them has made each day I practice dentistry that much more special.

Legacy – that we are here to make a difference and how you conduct your life matters! From my patient that left his mark through land conservation, to so many of my patients who have just been so kind and pleasant each and every time they come into the office. How you make people feel with your attitude, your words and your actions is how people remember you. Legacy is about impact, large or small –  it matters.

Grateful – that when I think about the patients I have cared for, the ones I have lost, and the ones that I am still blessed to serve, that as a dentist, a professional and a friend I am thankful and I am grateful to have known and been touched by such amazing people.

Future plans and possibilities?
We want to grow together with Lynn Valley and to serve and listen to the needs of our community. Our goal is to be on the edge of latest technological advances in dentistry and to be able to provide those to our patients. Dentistry is a fast growing field and we are always following the newest trends through continuous education, seminars, and study groups that we lead or follow.
