Concert supports work of Rainbow Refugees

Looking for a tuneful end of the week, and happy to support a great cause? Proceeds from this community concert on Friday, May 26 will help fund Rainbow Refugees, a group that supports people seeking refugee protection in Canada due to sexual orientation or gender issues. The following press release is from the Lynn Valley United Church website:

Defying Gravity is a fundraising concert featuring baritone, Geoffrey Dice – a Vancouver dentist and member of the Vancouver Men’s Chorus and Lynn Valley United Church’s Music Minister, Frank Chu.  The duo have joined forces to perform music they both love and feel empowers the spirit.

Be a Lynn Valley LINK trail builder!

There’s an exciting new outdoor recreational project afoot in Lynn Valley, and you could be on the ground floor (literally). The Lynn Valley Community Association’s Annual Park Project takes place on Saturday, May 13 and is a key component of the new Lynn Valley LINK, a collaborative project between the LVCA and the District of North Vancouver.   The LINK will connect existing trails within and through Lynn Valley and will feature informational kiosks at key locations around the community.

  • There were 18 detached homes sold in April with an average sale price of $1,762,188 (median = $1,635,000)
  • The average sale price achieved was less than list price by 1.64%
  • Detached homes that sold in April took an average of 33 days to sell (median = 18)

Apartments and Townhouses:

  • There were 12 attached homes sold in April with an average sale price of $730,391  (median = $730,000)
  • The average sale price achieved was more than list price by 3.13%
  • Attached homes that sold in April took an average of 10 days to sell (median = 7 days)
